About Esme

Esme is building a local, community-driven way to get outside without needing to own every piece of gear yourself. We started with a simple observation: the outdoors should be easier to access, and a lot of great gear is sitting unused nearby.

Our pilot is focused on the Greater Seattle area, where weekend plans can range from alpine starts to lake days to rainy campouts. Esme helps neighbors lend and borrow quality outdoor gear with trust, clear communication, and secure payments built in.

We believe renting gear locally can lower the cost of trying something new, help owners earn from equipment they already have, and reduce the pressure to buy things that only get used a few times a year.
